Leaded Anchor Lines
Leaded anchor line in use
 These excellent anchor lines are manufactured from braided polyester rope with a lead core at one end of the   rope.  This means that you will not need chain, which can be very heavy and difficult to handle, with your anchor.   The lines are very supple and non kinking and will be far kinder to your top coat than chain can be.   The thimble that is ready spliced in one end makes attaching the line simple.

Ready-to-use anchor lines made of braided polyester with lead cord in the core of the line, including a stainless steel thimble.

The polyester line is very suitable as anchor line because it sinks, is abrasion-resistant and has enough stretch to absorb the forces during the anchoring of, for example, the waves. 

Because the line is provided with a lead cord, the anchor will bury itself faster and better, which reduces the chance of a scratching anchor.

The required length anchor line is determined by the water depth on the spot and the currently prevailing wind power. On average one takes approximately 5 times the water depth as length for the anchor line. In low wind one can often do with less line and in heavy weather (wind force 5 and more) the length goes up to 7 times the water depth.

The diameter of the line is determined by the boat length and weight of the ship.

Polyester braided 12mm: for ships up to approximately 8m weighing up to 4000kg
Polyester braided 14mm: for ships up to approximately 10m weighing up to 5000kg
Polyester braided 16mm: for ships up to approximately 12m weighing up to 6000kg

The anchor line is supplied on a small compact rope coil.
